My Leap of Faith

I swear I didn’t even plan it like this! Earlier this month, I gave my 30-day notice to my employer so I could focus on truly launching my doula business. I’d been doing a lot of planning…a lot of talking…and a TON of dreaming. But I didn’t have the time or energy to focus on bringing my vision to fruition. On February 1st, I took a deep breath and wrote my resignation letter.

I thought I’d be scared. “What are you doing?” “Are you crazy?!” “You don’t have any clients lined up.” “You are new to the field.” “There are SO many more people out there with more expertise.”

Sounds familiar? These voices have always been in chatting it up in my mind. But not this time. This time was different. It was quiet. Peaceful. It felt…RIGHT.

How auspicious that today, on February 29th I take this leap of faith into the ocean of my dreams. I’ve been creeping to the ledge for some time now, but today’s the day! Today was the last day working for someone else and the first day towards self-sustainability and following my path. I believe so passionately in what I do and now I can devote all my time and energy in transforming this vision into existence.
